Working at ASC
John McLaughlin
SENIOR MECHANICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER John McLaughlin knew that after 12 years working as a Mitsubishi engineer, he needed a new challenge.
John commenced work with us as a Mechanical Systems Engineer in November 2005, and has thrived on the change in environment and atmosphere.
John has already worked on the many hydraulics systems on board the Collins Class submarines and is in the first group of students undertaking the new Master of Marine Engineering degree – a program jointly developed and delivered by the University of Adelaide and ASC. This culminated in presenting a paper at the Pacific 2010 International Maritime Conference.
John now works in Deep Blue Tech where he performs conceptual design work for future submarines in the areas of ventilation, cooling, pump and hydraulic systems.
“I’m working on different things all the time, and doing things I haven’t been exposed to before, like preparing papers for conferences,” said John. |
