A new force is surfacing

5 October 2004

Australian Submarine Corporation is charting a new course.

Well-known for building Australia’s Collins Class fleet, the world’s most advanced conventional submarines, Australian Submarine Corporation has become ASC Pty Ltd - a new name for a new era.

Chairman John Prescott AC said the new image and philosophy reflected the broader business focus of ASC.

“15 years experience as lead contractor on the most ambitious defence build program ever undertaken in Australia has helped us develop expertise and high-end skills that now encompass much more than just building submarines,” said Mr Prescott.

“Our new identity sends a powerful message that ASC is primed to build and maintain Australia’s front-line naval defence capabilities for the future.”

Mr Prescott said the new identity was being rolled-out across its operations around the country.

“Our new identity signals that ASC is not standing still.  The company is moving forward and in a very strong way, and it’s only fitting that ASC’s corporate identity becomes a powerful signal of this change,” he said.

“We are intensely proud of our heritage as we believe it arms us with the necessary skills and tools for what the future holds. We believe that pride combined with a future-driven business focus is what people will see when they look at the new ASC.”
