Submission to Inquiry into naval shipbuilding in Australia
In late 2005, the Australian Senate requested the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee inquire into and report upon the scope and opportunity for naval shipbuilding in Australia.
As Australia's only submarine builder and maintainer, and shipbuilder for the Air Warfare Destroyer Program, ASC submitted a wide-ranging document which argued that Australia would substantially benefit by adopting a new, more modern, pattern of vessel capability management for all new Royal Australian Navy surface vessels and submarines.
