Meet Anna-Marie: A passionate graduate at ASC who’s already making waves in the defence industry! 

After 8-months in our Corporate Graduate Program, Anna-Marie is thriving in the Work, Health, Safety and Environment (WHSE) team. Currently, in her first rotation with the
operations team, she’s learning the ropes and making a real impact on the shop floor. By mid-year, Anna-Marie will transition into the governance team, gaining new insights and contributing to the safety and wellbeing of ASC’s workforce.

Every day is a new adventure, and she thrives on the variety. “There’s really no typical day,” says Anna-Marie.

“From supporting incident investigations to collaborating on reducing our environmental impact. I’m never stuck behind a desk – I’m out there making a real difference and I love it!”

Anna-Maries journey didn’t start in defence – she was initially pursuing a nursing degree, but realised her true passion for helping others could take a different path. Now,
she’s directly supporting the safety of ASC workers, a role that allows her to make a real impact and follow her passion.

 “My team is amazing! From fellow grads to team leads and coworkers, there’s always someone to ask questions,” says Anna-Marie.

 The best part? Anna-Marie gets hands-on experience with the submarines, growing her technical expertise while developing professionally. “At ASC, we’re given continuous learning and career development opportunities that set us up for success beyond the graduate program,” says Anna-Marie.

“Being so close to the submarines teaches you a lot about how everything works. The training days are designed to enhance specialised knowledge and help us become experts. These sessions also focus on developing soft skills like teamwork and effective communication – just as crucial as technical expertise.”
