ASC has evolved from a submarine builder to sustainer, gaining the unique knowledge and capability required to support such a complex asset.
It wasn’t known then, but the industrial submarine capability developed over that time would be a key foundation for ASC’s future role in AUKUS.”

Stuart Whiley: Why a career is defence is a privilege and rewarding
“AUKUS is the greatest industrial undertaking in Australia’s history. As a nation, we need to transform our workforce now to make the most of the opportunities that lay ahead.
Over the next few years, ASC ‘s workforce will continue its rapid growth trajectory. To be able to hire this highly skilled workforce, we need kids at school today to be thinking about careers that will involve sustaining our current submarine fleet as well as building the submarines of tomorrow.”
The support network behind our apprentices
Behind every successful apprentice stands a dedicated network of people and resources working together to support their journey.
At ASC, we blend hands-on experience with structured guidance to give apprentices the tools they need to become highly skilled tradespeople working on Australia’s submarines.
